About The Event

Theme: Boo-tastic Science. Ready to get spooky? We're sure the whole family will have a fang-tastic time in our Mad Lab, making floating ghosts, and taking on the spiderweb challenge at this month's event to kick off the month of Spooktober! Space at Discover Science Saturday is available on a first come, first served basis. Your RSVP helps us determine the number of guests to expect so we have ample materials. Thank you!

  • Mad Lab: Participants will use their sense of touch to explore mysterious objects hidden inside the Mad Lab box. By carefully feeling the shapes, textures, and sizes, they'll make scientific guesses about what's inside. Get all the guesses right, and you'll earn a special prize!

  • Floating Ghost: In this activity, participants will create ghostly figures using paper, paperclips, and magnets. By carefully positioning the magnets, guests will make their ghost "float" as if by magic, defying gravity's pull.

  • Spider Web Challenge:  In the Spider Web Challenge, participants will step into the role of a spider that's ready for a meal! Instead of creating webs, you'll focus on how many bugs you can remove from a pre-made web. Using your fine motor skills, guests will carefully extract the bugs they've "caught" without disturbing the web.
