SCIENCE EDUCATION NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
In 2018, only 55% of 5th grade students and 50% of 8th grade students in Florida passed the Statewide Science Assessment portion of the Florida Standards Assessment. Science education is crucial--and with your support, together we can provide services to kids, students, and teachers through our hands-on science center and educational programs. You can help us reach our goal to make a positive impact, foster a scientifically engaged community, and show how science shapes the world around us.
$25 will provide a Girls Engaged in Making (GEM) Workshop scholarship for one young woman and allow her the chance to pursue STEM topics; fields in which women are vastly underrepresented.
$50 allows us to buy an additional Ozobot, a coding robot that comes with infinite ways to play, create, and share. Ozobots give our students a chance to learn how to code and work with robotics.
$100 sends 18 students on a field trip to our center where they can interact with our museum exhibits, experience hands-on learning, and even get an up-close encounter with our animals.
$250 provides one school with a Bioblitz, a chance for students to explore the biodiverisity in their school's location and learn about how to collect and classify a variety of species and specimens.
$500 furnishes our robotics workshops with a new Lego Mindstorms EV3 robot to inspire our students to build, program, and play while learning exciting computer science concepts.
Whether you'd like to volunteer, become a member, or simply help us by providing much needed Wish List items, every contribution counts in a big way. Want to set up recurring, monthly donations to help sustain programs and exhibits? Become an Essential Element to the Science Center here!
We are a designated only agency and must be mentioned specifically when making your contribution.
