Maker Days *Class Full*

Our student scientists explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics during hands-on, creative workshops. Maker Days gives learners the opportunity to create, construct, and make something new at each session.

Maker Days is a drop-off program, and as such it allows many of our home school students to interact with our educators and other students in a classroom setting. These classes are designed to engage, stimulate, encourage, and challenge young children with hands on exploration using a typical class arrangement.

Preregistration is required

Please ensure your registration forms have been submitted and tickets purchased. You can fill out our registration form here and either email it to website@ecscience.org or bring it with you to the workshop. If you wish to register for multiple classes at once, please email website@ecscience.org with your completed registration form and the dates you'd like to sign up for to be invoiced (registration is only open for classes in the fall semester). Your child's spot in the workshop is not confirmed until payment is processed.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance of the event date will incur a 10% administrative fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event will incur a 30% administrative fee. There will be no refunds offered for missed classes without notice.

August 7 & 8: Botanical Creations

Set your child's creativity free, and nurture their love for nature in our captivating Botanical Creations Maker Days where young artists will embark on a delightful journey to craft enchanting creations inspired by the beauty of plants and flowers. From designing floral masterpieces using vibrant petals and leaves to creating whimsical botanical sculptures, students are bound to have a great time!

September 11 & 12: Polymer Science*

Get ready for an exciting journey into the amazing world of polymers with our captivating Polymer Science workshop. Through hands-on experiments and creative projects, young scientists will discover the magic of polymers as they make bouncy balls, stretchy slime, and other fascinating creations.

October 2 & 3: Animation Creations

Create a masterpiece! Let’s bring out that inner animator in our exciting Animation Creations workshop, where young storytellers will dive into the enchanting world of stop-motion and digital animation. Through hands-on activities and innovative techniques, they will bring characters to life and create mesmerizing stories using clay, paper, or digital tools.

November 6 & 7: Lab Day

Time to mix it up during our thrilling lab day workshop, where students will experience the excitement of hands-on experimentation. Get ready to put on your lab coat, grab your goggles, and dive into a world of hands-on experiments and exciting discoveries. From mixing colorful chemicals to observing intriguing reactions, this immersive workshop will ignite your curiosity, spark your creativity, and unleash your inner scientist.

December 4 & 5: Prepare for Takeoff

Strap in for an exhilarating journey to the skies in our Prepare for Takeoff Maker Days where aspiring young aviators will experience the thrill of flight through hands-on activities such as magnus effect flyers, stomp rockets, and much more.

January 8 & 9: Pottery Play*

Let’s seize the clay and get those hands dirty as we explore the world of pottery and clay. In this workshop, young artists will mold and shape their own unique ceramic creations. From spinning clay on the potter's wheel to hand-building imaginative sculptures, this hands-on workshop will ignite their imagination, foster fine motor skills, and allow them to explore the art of pottery in a fun and supportive environment.

February 5 & 6: Dino Digs

Time to dig, discover, and become a true dino detective! Students will be equipped with brushes, shovels, and keen eyes. They'll dig deep into the earth, unearthing fossils, identifying bones, and piecing together the puzzle of long-extinct dinosaurs. This immersive workshop will ignite their curiosity, spark their imagination, and transport them to a time when mighty creatures roamed the Earth, leaving them with unforgettable memories of their very own dino dig expedition.

March 4 & 5: Creepy Crawlies

Calling all curious adventures! Join us on a fascinating journey into the world of creepy crawlies in our captivating workshop for curious kids. Encounter intriguing spiders, scorpions, and other captivating creatures as you engage in hands-on activities and discover the wonders of their unique behaviors and habitats.

April 1 & 2: Environmental Advocate

Join our empowering workshop for kids and become an environmental advocate. Learn about pressing environmental issues, discover ways to make a positive impact, and gain the knowledge and tools to protect and preserve our planet for future generations. Get ready to be inspired, take action, and become a champion for a greener and more sustainable world.

May 6 & 7: Acoustic Adventures

Immerse yourself in an enchanting acoustic adventure during our final Maker Days of the school year. Students will discover the wonders of sound, experiment with musical instruments, and unravel the mysteries of soundwaves through interactive activities. Get ready to explore the magic of music, spark your imagination, and deepen your appreciation for the captivating world of sound.
