Starting December 5, 2019, our Makerspace is open every Thursday from 1 - 3 p.m. and every third Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Our Makerspace is where design, research, engineering, art, mathematics, and science come to life.

About The Event

Create outside the box. Use cutting-edge tools like our Glowforge 3D laser  printer, Prusa 3D printers, Cricut, embroidery sewing machine, and more. Our Makerspace is open every Thursday from 1 - 3 p.m. and every third Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30  p.m. This is not a drop off program, but something for families and groups to enjoy together.

December 12 Makerspace Experience: 

  • Learn how to use our super futuristic Glowforge 3D laser printer as you make your own wood burned Christmas ornament, perfect to add to your tree at home! There are limited time slots available, so call us at 850-664-1261 to secure your Glowforge experience. Cost of  $3 per ornament; this includes all materials needed to make a unique addition to anyone's Christmas tree.
  • Create a beautiful metal stamped bracelet with your own custom lettering and wording using our special kit. An excellent idea for a special Christmas present. Cost of $2 for each bracelet made; this includes all materials needed to take home a one of a kind creation.
  • Techie Time! Learn the basics of Arduino and coding to make a model of a working lamp. An excellent crash course for anyone interested in beginner coding and programming. No additional costs are associated with this activity.

Access to the Makerspace is included with general admission pricing, but certain activities do incur an additional fee based on materials and equipment utilized. Additional costs are outlined in each event listing's activities and can be paid for via phone or when you arrive to the museum. Online ticketing and registration are not available for this activity.
