Science To-Go: Feats of Engineering

About The Event
Looking for a new way to mix up those at-home science lessons? We've got you covered!
Our Science To-Go kits offer new hands-on challenges every week for a variety of age ranges. Each kit comes with all the materials your scientists need to conduct experiments at home, a guided video for each lesson provided by Science Center educators, plus exclusive access to our weekly "Ask the Educator" live sessions every Sunday from 4-5 p.m. These sessions will give your children the opportunity to ask any questions they have about activities and lessons to our knowledgeable Science Center education team.
Science To-Go kit for the week of June 8: Feats of Engineering
Engineer some truly fun and interactive marvels with this week's Science To-Go kit! Test out your building skills when you craft a popsicle stick catapult and attempt to launch small objects further and further. Then learn how to make a pencil crossbow (don't worry, the pencils are unsharpened!), and test out the laws of physics by projecting soft objects with your new crossbow. Finally, engineer your own car with our favorite blocks- Legos! These activities are great for scientists of all ages, but younger tinkerers might need some help from a lab assistant (a.k.a., an adult). Prepare any questions you have after completing the activities and join our Ask the Educator session Sunday, June 14, at 4 p.m. We'll send the link to the live session via email after you've registered for your kit.
