About The Event

Our student scientists explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics during hands-on, creative workshops. Maker Days gives learners the opportunity to create, construct, and make something new at each session.

Maker Days is a drop-off program, and as such it allows many of our home school students to interact with our educators and other students in a classroom setting. These classes are designed to engage, stimulate, encourage, and challenge young children with hands on exploration using a typical class arrangement.

Please send your child with a snack or light lunch as food is not provided.

First Monday & Tuesday of Each Month

9:00 am-12:00 pm

The same lesson is taught on both days

Cost

$35 Members/$40 Nonmembers

$10 off additional siblings

Preregistration is required

Please ensure your registration forms have been submitted and tickets purchased. You can fill out our registration form here and either email it to website@ecscience.org or bring it with you to the workshop. If you wish to register for multiple classes at once, please email website@ecscience.org with your completed registration form and the dates you'd like to sign up for to be invoiced. Your child's spot in the workshop is not confirmed until payment is processed.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance of the event date will incur a 10% administrative fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event will incur a 30% administrative fee. There will be no refunds offered for missed classes without notice.

Step Up Scholarship Policy

The museum is not a Step Up/PEP provider. However, we can provide an invoice for reimbursement after payment is complete, but classes must be registered for via invoice in order to receive this. To register for classes via invoice, email your preferred class dates, child's name and age, and Science Center membership status to website@ecscience.org. For the security and privacy of our staff, we are unable to provide individual diplomas or certificates; instead, instructor credentials and LinkedIn profile link are listed directly on the reimbursement invoice. Reimbursement invoices can only be provided once classes are paid for.

2026 Class Topics

January 5 & 6: Stamp it out!

Get ready to press, print, and play with science! Join us as we design stamps, explore how ink transfers images, and dive into the early technology of the printing press. From rubber stamps to block prints, they'll experiment with pressure, patterns, and precision while learning the science behind how printing changed the world, one stamp at a time.

February 2 & 3: Builders Workshop

Grab your toolbelt- it’s time to build! In this hands-on workshop, young makers will explore the science behind simple machines like screws, pulleys, and levers while using real tools like screwdrivers and hammers. From twisting screws to lifting with pulleys, kids will learn how these clever tools make big jobs easier and use them to build their own hands-on creations!

March 2 & 3: Math in Motion

Who knew numbers could move? Kids will jump, build, measure, and play their way through exciting math challenges. From patterns and puzzles to shapes in action, this high-energy workshop turns math into a hands-on adventure full of motion, movement, and discovery!

April 6 & 7: Earthy Engineers

Time to branch out and unleash your inner artist! Using natural materials, kids will buzz around like busy wasps and tweet their way to creating amazing nature-inspired art and clever structures. They’ll dig into how nature itself inspires creativity and engineering, showing that Mother Nature is the ultimate genius!

May 4 & 5: Tune Time

Get ready to make some noise! Kids will explore the science and fun of sound as they create their own instruments, experiment with rhythm, and jam together in silly sound games. It’s a day full of beats, booms, and hands-on harmony.
