About The Event
Summer STEAM Workshops:
$45 Member/$50 Nonmember per workshop
$15 off for each additional sibling per workshop
10% off when you sign up for at least 8 workshops per child (please call 850-664-1261 or email website@ecscience.org to receive this discount)
Want to sign up for multiple classes at once? Please email us at website@ecscience.org with the list of class dates you'd like to sign up for, your child's name and age, and your membership status, and we will send you an online invoice. Please note your child's spot in the workshop is not confirmed until payment is processed; payment is required within 7 days of invoicing, or those spaces will be released to the next customer.

STEP UP SCHOLARSHIP INFO:
The museum is not a Step Up/PEP provider. However, we can provide an invoice for reimbursement after payment is complete, but classes must be registered for via invoice in order to receive this, so please email us at wesbite@ecscience.org to sign up for any classes if you will need a reimbursement.
Summer STEAM Workshop Lessons (limited to 20 students each):
Camp time includes the lessons listed below as well as fun activities on the sciPad, in our new STEAM Machine, and in our outdoor exhibit area, plus a 20-minute lunch break. Kids can expect to explore a different theme every week, and each Monday and Tuesday workshop will have different activities.

Step into a world of creativity and adventure at Minecraft Madness. Students will dive into hands-on activities inspired by Minecraft, like designing their own unique biome and creating creeper slime, all while working together and having fun. It’s the perfect chance to build, explore, and learn through engaging STEAM activities.

June 8: Sports Biomechanics Part 1 • June 9: Sports Biomechanics Part 2
It’s science in motion! Kids will explore sports biomechanics through hands-on challenges like building mini golf courses, launching catapults, and competing in STEM Field Day, all while discovering how their bodies move, balance, and perform.

June 15: Mad Lab Mix-Up Part 1 • June 16: Mad Lab Mix-Up Part 2
Welcome to The Mad Lab Mix-Up, where curious minds and wild ideas collide. Young experimenters will dive into hands-on fun, from mixing stretchy, colorful slime to creating foamy, fizzing explosions that bubble up like magic. Along the way, students will explore the science behind these reactions while embracing creativity, curiosity, and a little bit of delightful chaos.

June 22: Giants of the Deep Blue Part 1 • June 23: Giants of the Deep Blue Part 2
How big are the biggest creatures in the ocean? Join us as we dive into the deep blue to explore whales, sharks, and other ocean giants while investigating the science behind their size and survival. Explore and create your own whale beat to understand communication, build a marine ecosystem to see how energy flows through the ocean, and experiment with the chemistry of ocean zones to discover how these conditions shape the lives of the giants of the deep.

June 29: The Museum Mystery Files Part 1 • June 30: The Museum Mystery Files Part 2
Step into the role of a detective at Museum Mystery Files. A puzzling crime is waiting to be solved. Students will investigate clues through hands-on activities like coding a robot extraction mission with Dash and lifting fingerprints to uncover the culprit. It’s an exciting adventure full of problem-solving, teamwork, and detective skills as they crack the case.

July 6: The Goo Crew Part 1 • July 7: The Goo Crew Part 2
Come join the Goo Crew and dive into the weird, wiggly, and wonderfully slimy world of life! Explore creeping slime molds, squishy fungi, wriggling worms, sticky snails, slippery amphibians, and tiny microbes that make the world go “ooze.” Investigate life cycles, experiment with gooey textures, and discover the science behind how these squishy lifeforms survive, grow, and move: all hands-on and hands-down messy fun.

July 13: Nocturnal Nature Part 1 • July 14: Nocturnal Nature Part 2
What really happens when the sun goes down? Step into the world of nighttime science as we explore everything from glowing night skies to the mysteries of sleep and life after dark. Students will investigate owl pellets, create moon phases using 3D pens, and design glowing firefly-inspired necklaces while learning how animals, humans, and even plants adapt to the night. With hands-on activities exploring light, darkness, energy, and the rhythms of day and night, join us as we explore a whole new side of the world you don’t usually see.

July 20: Rise of the Padawans Part 1 • July 21: Rise of the Padawans Part 2
Blast off into an unforgettable adventure at this Star Wars-inspired summer camp, where young recruits train to harness their creativity and courage. Students will engineer their own Starfighter launchers to send paper planes soaring across the galaxy and craft DIY lightsabers worthy of a true hero. Along the way, they’ll take on exciting missions and enjoy many more hands-on activities, building teamwork, creativity, and imagination in a camp experience that’s truly out of this world.

Step into a world of magic at this Harry Potter-inspired summer camp, where young wizards embark on an unforgettable adventure. Students will mix bubbling brews in potions class, explore the wonders of plants in herbology, discover fascinating facts about magical creatures, and more. With plenty of enchanting activities along the way, this camp is the perfect place to spark imagination, friendship, and a little bit of magic in every day.

Drop off and Pick up:
No children are left unattended in the museum. The museum does not open to the public until 10 a.m., so after drop off, we ask that you please wait outside of the museum or in your vehicle if you wish to bring in other children to play in the museum that day; you will need to pay general admission for this unless you are a member.
Please be on time when dropping off and picking up students. There is a fee for late pick-ups: if you are more than 10 minutes late picking up your child(ren), a late fee of $15 will be applied per child.
Cancellations and Refunds:
The Emerald Coast Science Center reserves the right to reserve or cancel classes. Each class has a minimum and maximum enrollment number. In the event of a workshop cancellation, all fees will be returned in full and parents or guardians will be notified as soon as possible. There is a 30% administrative fee for any customer cancellations. Guests who do not attend the event will not receive a refund after the event has occurred.
