About The Event

 Summer STEAM Workshops:

  • $40 Member/ $45 NonMember per workshop
  • $15 off for each additional sibling per workshop
  • 10% off when you sign up for at least 8 workshops (please call 850-664-1261 or email to receive this discount)

  • Please send your child with a lunch and drink
  • Optional: kids are welcome to dress up for the theme at each workshop! Let's represent those Hogwarts Houses, Poke faves, and Disney royalty! Our education staff will be in costume for each event as well.

Workshop Lessons (limited to 20 students each)

We have exciting new workshops for 2021 including hands-on, interactive lessons that give kids the opportunity to spend their vacation on a science adventure! From Disney-inspired engineering to galactic space adventures and our Wizarding World of Science, Monday and Tuesday workshops will delight and educate all. Sign your kiddos up today! Camp time includes the lessons listed below as well as fun activities in SMALLab, in our new STEAM Machine, and in our outdoor exhibit area, plus a 20-minute lunch break.

Each week, there will be the same theme listed below on Monday and Tuesday, but there will be different activities each day, so sign up for both days to experience the ultimate amount of fun!

Calendar of Events

June 14 & 15- Science Kingdom: Be our guest at this Disney-inspired workshop where we will explore all the science behind the shows and movies you've grown up watching.

Topics covered: Engineering, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry

June 21 & 22- Mad Scientist: Step into the Mad Scientist's laboratory and stir up some trouble. We promise you it will be mystifying, nearly magical, and absolutely mad.

Topics covered: Chemistry, Physics

June 28 & 29- Mystery at the Museum: Whodunit? In this character-immersive camp, you'll have to dive in and test your detective skills to dig up clues by using the same crime solving techniques the professionals do.

July 6 (no class on July 5)- Messtival: It's easy to make a mess when you're not the one who has to clean it up! Join us for a day of ooey gooey slime messes that you can't make at home. *Please send children in clothes that can get messy for this workshop.*

July 12 & 13- Poke Trainers: Gotta catch 'em all, right? Let's learn the science behind Pokemon types and their abilities and relate them to bugs, reptiles, and mammals.

July 19 & 20- Wizarding World of Science: We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at the Emerald Coast Wizarding World of Science. Our young wizards will be sorted into one of four houses and will participate in a variety of classes inspired by Harry Potter.

July 26 & 27- Robotics, Roll Out: "Autobots, Transform and Roll Out!" Join us as we discover robotics in a new way as we put a fun spin on one of our most popular programs. Get a hands-on introduction to everything that the field of robotics has in store for you.

August 2 & 3- STEAM Wars: Travel to a galaxy far, far away and immerse yourself in some of your favorite Sci-Fi stories. Move beyond fiction to discover real-life rocketry, explore our solar system, and investigate mysteries of deep space.

Drop off and Pick up:

No children are left unattended in the museum. Please be on time when dropping off and picking up students. There is a fee for late pick-ups: if you are more than 10 minutes late picking up your child(ren), a late fee of $15 will be applied per child.

Cancellations and Refunds:

The Emerald Coast Science Center reserves the right to reserve or cancel classes. Each class has a minimum and maximum enrollment number. In the event of a workshop cancellation, all fees will be returned in full and parents or guardians will be notified as soon as possible. Participant cancellations must be submitted 72 hours in advance of the workshop start date; there is a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations will be accepted ONLY in writing.
