Looking for a summer gig that’s out of this world, or just want to geek out while giving back? The Emerald Coast Science Center is blasting off into a season of science, smiles, and hands-on fun, and we need awesome humans to join our mission! We're hiring front desk associates, front desk assistants, and an animal caretaker to help keep things running smoothly and our critters happy.
Not looking for a job but still want in on the action? Become a volunteer science sidekick! Whether you’re guiding curious minds through the wonders of our planetarium, firing up fun on the sciPad, unleashing creativity in the STEAM Machine, or mixing up some science magic at Chemistry Corner, there's a spot for you on our team. Come help us make this summer the most exciting one yet!
JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Are you passionate about science and love engaging with the community? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill several key positions this summer. Opportunities include Front Desk Associate, Front Desk Assistants, and an Animal Caretaker. Whether you're greeting guests, assisting with programs, or caring for our Animal Ambassadors, you'll play a vital role in inspiring curiosity and discovery. 🐢 Animal Caretaker – As an Animal Caretaker, you’ll prep meals, clean habitats, chat with birds, and spoil our scaly, feathery, and furry residents with love and care. Bonus points if you can brave the grocery store aisles for animal snacks and don’t mind a little poop—hey, it’s organic! If you're reliable, creative, and have experience working with animals (or studying to), this quirky, rewarding job might just be your perfect fit. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
🎟️ Front Desk Associate – Become the friendly face of the Emerald Coast Science Center! As a Front Desk Associate, you’ll welcome guests, cover the phone, handle admissions and gift shop sales, share your science enthusiasm, and keep things humming behind the scenes. This flexible, part-time role is perfect for someone who’s detail-savvy, upbeat, and ready to jump into a fast-paced, fun environment. If you're a multitasker with a passion for helping others and a flair for problem-solving, we want you on our team! Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
🧪 Front Desk Assistant – The Front Desk Assistants support the facilitation of educational programs and activities. Greet guests, help run awesome programs, tackle admin tasks like a pro, and bring the energy every Saturday. Perfect for high school juniors, seniors, or college students looking to gain real-world experience in a vibrant, hands-on environment. Flexible hours, feel-good vibes, and potential to stick around past summer—what’s not to love? Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us this summer and help bring science to life for our visitors! If you’re passionate about STEAM and enjoy engaging with people, we’d love to have you on board. Here are some exciting ways you can get involved:
🚌 STEAM Machine Bus Facilitator – Help visitors create hands-on projects, explore STEM concepts, and get crafty with science-based activities.
🔬SciPad Guide – Guide guests through interactive, immersive games that explore science in an exciting way.
🌌Planetarium Assistant – Assist with live planetarium shows, helping guests explore the wonders of space and astronomy.
⚗️Chemistry Assistant – Support hands-on chemistry demonstrations and experiments, making science fun and engaging for all ages
Who We’re Looking For:
Outgoing individuals who enjoy engaging with people
Crafty and creative minds (highly encouraged!)
Students or anyone interested in STEM, teaching, or public speaking – this is a great way to gain experience!
Volunteers looking to earn a lot of hours while having fun
